Taylor Swift’s Latest Album “The Tortured Poets Department” Soars to Billboard’s Top Spot, Nearing The Beatles’ Record

American singer Taylor Swift’s latest release, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has clinched the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart, setting a new benchmark as one of the artists with the most albums ever to top the chart, second only to The Beatles.

Released on April 19, the album has already racked up 2.61 million “equivalent units,” a metric that encompasses both physical album sales and digital downloads, as reported by Billboard magazine.

This achievement brings Swift’s tally to 14 albums that have reached the top spot on the chart, a record she now shares with rapper Jay-Z, and one that is only surpassed by the legendary British band, The Beatles.

The ambitious project includes a deluxe edition with a total of 31 tracks, unveiled by Swift herself just two hours after the original release, featuring an additional 17 songs.

Moreover, the album has shattered vinyl sales records, with over 700,000 copies purchased by fans, making it the best-selling vinyl record of all time.

Swift is set to kick off the European leg of her ‘The Eras Tour’ in Paris on May 9, 10, 11, and 12. The tour will include around fifty performances, culminating on August 20 at London’s Wembley Stadium. In Spain, fans will have the opportunity to see her perform on May 29 and 30 at the newly renovated Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid.
